An easy and beautiful cycling route starting from the Church of Agios Prokopios at the village of Olympic Beach, having as final destination the Chapel of Panagia Zoodochou Pigis, 5.5 km away, a chapel into a forest of poplars and plane trees combined in a beautiful landscape. It is suitable for families as the route is quite and ideal for the afternoon, especially during the summer.

Alykes kitros

Cycling Tour

Starting from the Church of St. Fotini in Paralia’s main square, we end up at the lagoon and the wetland of Alykes in Kitros, at Axios Delta National Park. We will then head to the Chapel of St. Paraskevi and we will onwards cycle along the beach where the waves pop out, until we reach the lighthouse. We will then follow a dirt-road westward that expands throughout the wetland.

We will be able observe the large number of wading birds and the largest population of turtles in the world! Among the flora of the area, you will be able to see the sea-lily. Τhe sea-lily, is a bulbous feature of the coastal zone of the sand dunes, one of the most beautiful plants of the Greek flora, which is protected by special legislation. Our return will be by the southern part of the wetland that will lead us to the main road.

Ancient Pydna 

Cycling Tour

Starting from the Church of St. Fotini in Paralia’s main square, we head north on the coastal main road to Ancient Pydna. It is known from the Battle of Pydna, which marked the definitive occupation of Greece, to the Romans. In this battle, in 168 BC, the last King of Macedonia Perseus was defeated by Lucius Aemilius Paullus Macedonicus. After a short tour at the village we will have a small break in Makrygialos, to get refreshed or enjoy a meal at the local taverns. Our return will be by the same itinerary, reaching our initial point to its southern part.

Cycling Tour

Having as a starting point the hotel, we head towards the provincial road of Korinos. Then, we continue north along the seaside, to the Church of St. Paraskevi. Heading west, we go back to the main road, towards Korinos. A stop for a dessert at Kristal patisserie, close to the central square of the village, seems necessary, since its pudding is the best in the area. On our return, we will pass by the Monastery of  St. Georgios Tropeoforos. The monastery is dated by the middle of the 16th century and is one of the oldest monasteries in Pieria.

Around Litochoro

Cycling Tour

Starting from Litochoro, we head through the old market and the upper part of the village, towards the area of Myloi. On our way we will enjoy the Macedonian architecture and the cultural heritage of the village. Our final destination will be the Chapel of Prophet Elias, at an altitude of 520 meters with a spectacular view of the peaks through Enipeas Gorge and a panoramic view of the Pieria coastline. On our return we will visit Olympus National Park Management Agency for a short guided tour. The end of our trip takes place in Lakkos area, close to the central square of Litochoro, to enjoy a cold beer and taste local dishes, next to Enipeas river.

Ride Olympus National park

Cycling Tour

Starting from Litochoro at an altitude of 305 meters and through the old market, we will discover the cultural interest of the village towards Myloi area. Onwards, we will take a dirt road for a few kilometres, till we enter the forest area of conifers. Our final destination is Skandaliara stream in the heart of the mountain at the boundaries of the Olympus  National Park and Natura 2000 protected area.

On our return we will have a short break to admire the Chapel of St. Ioannis in an alpine landscape. The end of the cycling route will be at ​​Lakkos area, so as to enjoy a cold beer and the delicious local dishes, surrounded by plane trees next to Enipeas river.

Litochoro & Ancient Dion

Cycling Tour

Our starting point is the hotel and the main square in Litochoro, at an altitude of 300 meters, with our destination being Dion. Dion was the holy city of the ancient Macedonians. Alexander the Great began his historic campaign for Asia from Dion. We will have the opportunity to learn about its rich history both in the archaeological museum and site. Dion is 10 km away from our hotel. We will follow the provincial road connecting the two villages, admiring the mountain of the gods on our left. Our return will be by the same bike route until the intersection, but from that point onwards we will head east and pass in front of the overwhelming statue of Alexander the Great, having mountain Olympus in the background. We will then follow the uphill route until we reach our final destination, the central square of Litochoro.

Palei Pori & Paleos Panteleimonas

Cycling Tour

Starting from Palios Panteleimonas at an altitude of 510 meters, we head towards the square of the village at an altitude of 515 meters. We then continue on a woodsy route, surrounded by chestnuts and pine trees.

Old Pori is a traditional site, quiet and hospitable, surrounded by forest, unlike the traditional site of Palios Panteleimonas, amphitheatrically arranged with amazing panoramic view to the eastern coast of Pieria. Its picturesque features and its strong traditional element, such as the absence of cars from its cobbled streets, give you the feeling that you live in another era. At the end of the trip, a stop for lunch or coffee is recommended at the traditional taverns.

The cycling route starts from Leptokarya Municipal Park and through the pedestrianized route we will head west towards Karyes. Our destination is the archaeological site of Livithra. After our tour in the archaeological area our next stop will be the old town of Leptokarya and the Chapel of Holy Trinity. Α site were victims of the region are honored, subject of the civil war.
